“Love Marjorie's yoga classes. She reminds me that the flexibility I had as a kid is recoverable. It's no wonder that she packs the room. We all appreciate her ability to communicate what we need to focus on, the growth that we've attained under her tutelage, and her ability to consistently challenge us. At the end of her class I definitely feel more balanced physically and mentally.” March 19, 2012

DROP INTO QUIETNESS WITH YOGA

DROP INTO QUIETNESS WITH YOGA

NOT JUST ANY KIND OF YOGA...

BUT THE BEST PERSONALIZED INSTRUCTION TO SUIT YOUR NEEDS - SMALL GROUPS - ALL LEVELS

Whether you're seeking to promote physical wellness, mindfulness, emotional balance or a spiritual path, yoga will work for you. To practice yoga you don't need a background in meditation or stretching or religion.

Yoga comes from Sanskrit and means "Union." It helps you "mind" your body, so to speak, as it brings awareness of both your limitations and your possibilities. It helps you calm your mind and connect with a deeper sense of self where you can drop your defenses and get in touch with love and compassion. It fosters equanimity and joy.

How often?

You don't need to practice yoga every day in order to reap its benefits. But make sure that you practice regularly so that you keep your gains. The best way to start is to attend classes with different teachers until you feel comfortable with their teaching method so that you chose who do you want to learn from. Provide honest feedback to your teacher and express your needs, so that the teacher can tailor the class to meet them. And of course, bring the benefits of yoga to your daily life.

Please take note:
Wear comfortable clothes - shorts and Tshirt or leggings for example.
Bring your own mat. The center will provide pillows and blankets if needed.
Avoid using perfumes, body lotions, feet talcum powder and jewerly (people take their bracelets, rings, etc. at the center and forget them there).
It's nice when you let us know that you're coming, but you can drop in, hopefully, a few minutes before the time of the class
.

LOOK AT OUR CALENDAR  and call ahead if you want to participate in any of our classes.  Call if you have any questions: (239) 948-9444 - Call ahead recommended - Schedules may change. You can buy packages to save on your health investment.

MASALA YOGA
Instructor:

Ali Gardella - Click photo for video

Ali calls her style of yoga Masala (like in the mixture of spices typical of the Indian cuisine). It's a melange of the different styles she has learnt over the years and includes postures, breathing, stretchings and teasers to stimulate brain function. She also offers Partner Yoga workshops, which
can go from gentle to challenging and are always a lot of fun. You can come and practice with a friend, your partner, spouse, buddy or child. This modality fosters trust while developing body awareness for better range of motion and improved performance. Participants get into deep stretches assisted by another person (No need to bring partner.)

Ali has been practicing yoga for many years, but only got the yoga teaching bug when her beloved friend and yoga teacher, Clementine, prodded her to become a yoga teacher herself. After Clementine passed a few years ago, Ali finally took her suggestion, and in 2009 earned her 200 hr certification through the Sunshine State Yoga Association with Alan Lowenshuss. Since that time, Ali has generously assisted in running and coordinating the many SSYA projects, as well as offering special presentations on Prenatal, Chair, and Acro Yoga as part of the SSYA curriculum. Ali teaches not only at the EYES WIDE OPEN Center but in different locations around town. She is available for individual sessions at an affordable rate.
